Charles Robert Simard est artiste conceptuel et chercheur en littérature. Il est le fondateur du Collectif de Babel, groupe de réflexion et de réalisation de projets transdisciplinaires sur les thèmes du langage, de la pensée et des mondes possibles. Seul ou avec le Collectif, il a réalisé des installations multimédias, rédigé des textes de création et participé à de nombreux événements culturels comme Québec en toutes lettres, Lire Montréal et Pecha Kucha. Il détient un doctorat en littérature de l’Université de Montréal et un postdoctorat en littérature et études francophones de la City University of New York. Originaire de Montréal, il vit aujourd’hui à Brooklyn, New York.
Charles Robert Simard is a conceptual artist and literary scholar from Montreal. He is the founder of the Collective of Babel, an art group focusing on transdisciplinary projects involving language, thought and alternative world-making. Alone or with the Collective, he is the creator of a number of multimedia installations, creative texts and exhibitions presented to the general public on the occasion of cultural events such as Québec en toutes lettres, Lire Montréal and Pecha Kucha. He holds a Ph.D. in literature from the Université de Montréal and a postdoctorate in literature and French studies from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
